We are living in downright bizarre times. Indeed, the House of Representatives is emphatically discussing a party ban on FVD on Wednesday. The meeting is an initiative by Hermans (VVD), Paternotte (D66), Heerma (CDA), Kuiken (PvdA), Klaver (GL), Ouwehand (PvdD), Bikker (CU) and Dassen (Volt)... and is a direct attack on democracy.
In principle, the cartel parties want to start banning FVD. There really is no doubt about that. Thus says Badger very clearly to the Telegraph that FVD is undermining democracy, "it just is." It is a knee-jerk comment since FVD does not want to abolish democracy and instead calls on people to vote. But Dassen doesn't stop there.
"But this conversation is much broader: why is it that people are receptive to conspiracies? Do politics deliver for everyone? We are concerned about people's eroding trust, that they stop participating in democratic processes, drop out and become indifferent," he says.
Incredibly, then, he wants to "solve" that problem by simply banning a party. As if those people would then suddenly have faith in politics. "Oh yes, they banned the only party I could still support, but now my eyes have been opened and I understand that the elites are not evil at all! Well no, now I see that they are very nice, friendly people who unfortunately often make some blunders that make their policies turn out differently than they would like!"

It is downright bizarre to see all these concerned parties accusing FVD of undermining democracy while they themselves are in the process of banning our country's largest membership party. Why? Because that party says things they are not happy with. FVD has done nothing done that is problematic, there have been no half or full revolutions, no actions with pitchforks, no attacks on leftist politicians.
