Heavy toll on SME entrepreneurs: Corona debt leads to bankruptcies across sectors

The situation is downright discouraging for entrepreneurs who are still struggling with their corona debt. Many of them remain silent while their debt burden grows heavier and heavier. Although they have been granted repayment extensions until August, the number of bankruptcies is steadily rising. The hospitality, industrial and retail and wholesale sectors are particularly hard hit. Yesterday DDS wrote that bankruptcies in the Netherlands were up 19% last month. The major cause now appears to be the repayment of the Corona debt to the government.

These businesses, which have been struggling for months to keep their heads above water, are now facing the harsh reality of increasing bankruptcies. It is a bitter pill to swallow for the entrepreneurs who have built their businesses with so much passion and dedication, but are now in danger of going under due to the effects of the corona crisis.

Corona debt continues to hang over small and medium-sized businesses like a dark cloud. More than 50,000 companies have not yet been able to make any repayments, and their situation is becoming more dire by the day writes the FD. They face an accumulation of financial problems: interest rates that continue to rise, high wages and high purchasing costs. For these entrepreneurs, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

It is distressing to see how these bankruptcies are the result of a combination of factors beyond the control of the business owners. They fought to keep their businesses afloat during the lockdowns and economic downturn, but now they seem to be collapsing under the burden of their debts.

The government promised to provide support for businesses during the corona crisis, but the reality is that many entrepreneurs are still out in the cold. Tax debt hangs around their necks like a millstone as they desperately try to keep their heads above water.

It is crucial that action be taken to support and help these entrepreneurs repay their debts. It is time for the government to reach out and provide a realistic solution that ensures the survival of these businesses.

Help DDS get through these difficult times. Help us make a fist against the mainstream media as well as the party cartel. Fight side-by-side with us. Donate on BackMe and fight side-by-side with DDS against the globalist elites.

These bankruptcies are a sad reminder of the devastating impact of the corona crisis on the economy and on the lives of many entrepreneurs. It is a harsh lesson about the vulnerability of small and medium-sized enterprises and the need for adequate support measures in times of crisis. Let us hope that concrete steps are taken soon to help these entrepreneurs and prevent even more businesses from having to close their doors.
